The 25 year-old enjoyed a breakout month of July before hitting the injured list
Oakland Athletics outfielder Ramón Laureano has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a stress reaction in his right shin, according to A’s manager Bob Melvin.
“We’re going to have to shut him down for a while. He’s not going to be back in ten days,” Melvin stated.
Laureano had recently enjoyed an incredible month of July that saw him win American League Player of the Week honors. Over 22 games in the month of July, Laureano hit .392 with eight home runs and 18 RBI. The 25 year-old from the Dominican Republic is hitting .284 with 21 home runs and 58 RBI on the season while also playing well above average defense.
There is no timetable for the centerfielder’s return.
