Haliburton will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury

Sacramento Kings rookie guard Tyrese Haliburton has no structural damage to his knee and is expected to make a full recovery, per a release from the team issued on Tuesday night.

It is expected that Haliburton’s injury will not require surgery, a fantastic development for the rookie after a scary fall on Monday night in Dallas.

Haliburton suffered the injury with 7:30 remaining in the third quarter during Monday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.

The rookie guard took an awkward step after making brief contact with Mavericks guard Josh Richardson before going down with an injury. Haliburton gingerly walked off of the floor on his way to the locker room and did not return for the remainder of the second half.

Haliburton has had an incredible rookie season, averaging 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 47-percent from the field and 40-percent from the three-point line over 58 appearances.

This story will be updated as more information is provided.
