Not even 24 hours after the conclusion of the MLB lockout, free-agent deals are starting to trickle in.

The San Francisco Giants have bolstered its rotation by reaching an agreement with left-hander Carlos Rodón, per Jeff Passan of ESPN.

According to the report, Rodón’s deal will be for two years (through the 2023 season) and worth a total of $44 million.

Following the 2022 season, the left-hander will be able to opt out and re-enter free agency if he chooses.

Rodón, 29, finished fifth in the Cy Young Award voting after posting a 13-5 record, 2.37 ERA and striking out 185 batters over 132.2 innings last season while pitching for the Chicago White Sox.

Over seven big league seasons, the lefty hold a career 42-38 record, 3.79 ERA and 1.29 WHIP.

The 2021 All-Star was the front-runner for the Cy Young voting before being placed on the injured list due to shoulder soreness, missing almost a month of games while recovering.

By signing Rodón, the Giants have a replacement for Kevin Gausman after the former inked a massive deal with the Toronto Blue Jays before the lockout commenced in late November.
