2024 NBA Trade Tracker: Who’s on the move on draft night?

At long last, the 2024 NBA Draft is finally here. But while prospects get ready to hear their name called in New York City, the NBA trade landscape is heating up by the second.
While 2024 free agency doesn’t open until the start of next month, the trade market is in a frenzy, especially with this draft class. This year’s prospects are a bit underwhelming, setting up for a wild and wacky summer that could change the entire dynamic of the NBA landscape.
We’ve already seen one blockbuster trade this week, with the New York Knicks acquiring Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets for a boatload of future draft picks. Could more surprises like that be on the horizon? It sure is shaping up that way.

Saturday, June 28th
12:25 P.M. – Kings move Davion Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov to Raptors to clear salary
We have a Kings trade!
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sacramento Kings are moving Davion Mitchell and Sasha Vezenkov to the Toronto Raptors for forward Jalen McDaniels. The moves clears nearly $7 million in cap space, giving general manager Monte McNair more flexibility.
Additionally, Sacramento will also move the 45th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft to complete the deal.

Friday, June 27th
6:25 P.M. – [OFFICIAL] Kings hold trade talks over 13th pick, end up taking G Devin Carter
After all that speculation, the Sacramento Kings stand pat and select guard Devin Carter with the 13th overall pick. However, Woj did report that the Kings held significant trade conversations regarding the pick.

6 P.M. – [RUMOR] Kings in talks to trade 13th overall pick
Per the Sacramento Bee’s Jason Anderson, the Sacramento Kings are in talks to trade the 13th overall pick for either Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma, or Nets forward Cameron Johnson.
6 P.M. – Spurs take Rob Dillingham, deal him to Minnesota for future firsts
Yeah you read that right, San Antonio took Kentucky guard Rob Dillingham and traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Spurs have traded the eighth overall pick to the Timberwolves for a 2031 unprotected first, and a 2030 pick swap.
4:20 P.M. – [RUMOR] Wizards aren’t done dealing, with Kuzma to the Kings still possible
After trading for the 14th overall pick, you’d think Washington was set right? Nah.
Per Wizards journalist Greg Finberg, and other news outlets, Washington is looking to load up on additional draft capital. That includes potentially dealing veteran forward Kyle Kuzma, with the Sacramento Kings seen as an ideal destination because of the 13th overall pick.
3:45 P.M. – Wizards deal Deni Avdija to Trail Blazers for Malcolm Brogdon, 14th overall pick and more
A draft-day deal with 75 minutes to go before it begins.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Washington Wizards are trading forward Deni Avdija to the Portland Trail Blazers for guard Malcolm Brogdon and the 14th overall pick in today’s draft. Washington will also receive the second-most favorable of their 2029 firsts, and two second-round picks.
Avdija, 23, signed a four-year, $55 million contract extension last season.
1:30 P.M. – [RUMOR] Kings looking to add Doran Finney-Smith and/or Cam Johnson for 13th overall pick
Per Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports, the Sacramento Kings are interested in using the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft for one or both of Brooklyn Nets’ wings Dorian Finney-Smith and Cameron Johnson.
This news comes as Sacramento reportedly looks to “aggressively” shop their first-round pick on draft night for win-now players. For Brooklyn, the MIkal bridges trade signals a full rebuild on the horizon.
Thursday, June 26th
7 P.M. – Knicks trade for Mikal Bridges, Nets get massive haul
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Knicks and Nets have agreed in principle to a deal to send forward/defensive ace Mikal Bridges to the Knicks. The trade includes forward Bojan Bogdanovic, four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick via the Milwaukee Bucks, an unprotected pick swap and a second-rounder.
The move reunites Bridges with his Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo. Meanwhile, the Nets appear to be headed for a full rebuild in the coming years.
7:10 P.M. – Nets get two of their first-round picks back from the Rockets
Shortly after the news broke on the Bridges deal, Woj was back with another big-time NBA move involving Brooklyn.
The Nets and Houston Rockets agreed to a deal that gave the former two of their first-round picks back in upcoming drafts. Brooklyn re-acquired their 2025 and 2026 first-rounders outright, sending Houston four unprotected firsts from the Knicks, a NYK pick swap in 2028 and a protected 2025 first from the Milwaukee Bucks.
In the end, it took the Nets four additional picks to acquire their own two firsts over the next two years.
Additionally, per reports, the Rockets are interested in flipping a massive amount of draft capital for a win-now superstar. Names mentioned include the Phoenix Suns’ duo Kevin Durant and Devin Booker at this time.
