After an absolutely exhausting month-long process, the 2022 NBA Draft has come to a close.

The Sacramento Kings used its prized fourth-overall pick on standout Iowa forward Keegan Murray, a move that has been received as mixed around the fanbase as general manager Monte McNair opted to select the 21-year-old over Purdue guard Jaden Ivey.

On the latest edition of the Return of the Roar podcast with Chris Watkins and Frankie Cartoscelli, the guys shared their reactions to the pick and recapped a largely uneventful night inside of the Sacramento Kings practice facility.

Also:

  • Was Keegan Murray truly the best player available, or was McNair drafting the best player available for the greatest position of need?
  • What was McNair’s thought process behind trading away both second-round picks?
  • According to multiple reports, some teams were trying to trade up to fourth for Murray–not Ivey, as originally reported
  • Summer League and Free Agency dates
  • Chris and Frankie are heading to San Francisco and Las Vegas for Summer League action!

The Return of the Roar podcast is a Sacramento Kings podcast hosted by Kings beat writer Frankie Cartoscelli and digital content producer Chris Watkins for Sactown Sports 1140.
