It has been a couple of days since Fergie gave us the latest national anthem fiasco and it still won’t get out of our heads and timelines. Though it was the worst in recent memory, it got us thinking about the best moments with the anthem in sports

 The Good

Whitney Houston: What may be the most popular rendition of the anthem, at the 1991 Super Bowl, Whitney Houston gave us the closest thing you could get to perfection.

Marvin Gaye: The anthem has never been a song of seduction, but at the 1983 NBA All-Star Game, Marvin Gaye put his melodic touch on the anthem and gave the crowd at The Forum a show before the show.

The Bad

Carl Lewis: A nine time Olympic track and field gold medalist, Carl Lewis stepped to the mic to sing the nations anthem at the 1993 NBA Finals….it didn’t go well.

Roseanne Barr: I still don’t know if this was a joke or not, but I would suggest listening to this one on mute.

The Questionable

Steven Tyler: Probably the most surprising person to be on this list is the legendary Aerosmith lead-singer. The anthem starts semi-promising with Tyler bringing out his harmonica, but quickly turns south eventually ending with him forgetting the words and never truly ending the song.

R Kelly: No artist other than R Kelly could’ve pulled something like this off, and I’m not certain he pulled this off.
