A valiant effort in practice this week, but in the end it’s another inactive for San Francisco 49ers defensive end Samson Ebukam.

Practicing in limited fashion all week, the former Los Angeles Ram seemed on track to play after Saturday’s limited session, listed as questionable heading into Monday night. Unfortunately the work on the practice field wasn’t enough to convince defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans and the coaching staff he was fully ready to return.

Ebukam, 27, has been dealing with a quad injury he suffered after the Bye Week, forcing him to miss Week 10’s clash with the LA Chargers. He has dealt with a couple lower body injuries this year, hobbled with achilles tendinitis after the team’s two-week road trip a few games prior.

The San Francisco 49ers are already without starting defensive tackles Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) and Javon Kinlaw (knee), giving the team a depleted group in the trenches for Week 11. Samson Ebukam has 3.5 sacks in 2022, third-most among 49ers’ defensive linemen.

On the positive side, wide receiver Danny Gray is active for Week 11 after rolling his ankle in the pre-game warmups last week. Also, cornerback Charvarius Ward is back with the team after missing the first two practices in Colorado due to a personal matter.

For Arizona, quarterback Kyler Murray will miss his second consecutive game with a hamstring injury, leaving veteran Colt McCoy to call the plays Monday night. WR Deandre Hopkins is also active Monday night, dealing with a hamstring injury that the Cardinals called “maintenance” previously.
