The 49ers have come up short of their ultimate goal the past few years, with Deebo Samuel & Co. understanding that the Super Bowl window is slipping away in the not so distant future.

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver shared that sentiment on his new podcast on Bleacher Report “Cleats & Convos” Tuesday. Alongside fellow 49ers wideout Brandon Aiyuk, Samuel was asked by host Liv Moods a variety of questions pertaining to the outlook of the team after a heartbreaking end to the 2023 season. One of those included how hungry the Red & Gold are to get the job done, to which the players had a chuckle about the current climate of the Super Bowl drought.

“If I’m looking at it like, you just said, how hungry? I’m full at this point. I’m full at this point, it’s time to really clean the plate,” Deebo Samuel said with a laugh on the podcast. “It’s either now or never, that’s how I kind of look at it. With the guys that we have, like, I’ve been a part of the best team on the field for the past, going on six years. We always there, like we gots to get done.”

The 49ers have been on a run since coach Kyle Shanahan took over in 2017.

Under Shanahan, SF have been to the NFC Championship game four times, including three consecutive trips. The 49ers have made The Big Game twice since 2019, falling short to the Kansas City Chiefs on both occasions.

Because of that, the sense of urgency in the locker room is ever so heightened, with all involved knowing that this run can’t last forever. And given the amount of high-paid superstars on the roster (and a massive Brock Purdy extension on the horizon) it’s now or never for one of the best teams ever assembled.

“In my eyes, we’ve been the best team in the league for a while,” Samuel added.
