The San Francisco 49ers will have a family face suit up Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams.

Among the roster moves made, running back Tevin Coleman will be elevated from the practice squad, serving in a backup role to starting ballcarrier Jeff Wilson Jr.

The 49ers also elevated WRs Willie Snead and Malik Turner to the active roster and placed linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair on injured reserve. The two additional wideouts will serve as a replacement for rookie Danny Gray, likely being held out of the contest with a hip injury.

Al-Shaair sustained an MCL during Week 3’s contest against the Denver Broncos. He will now head to short-term IR and will be out for at least the team’s next four games. Expected to miss close tho two months of action, it’s a big loss for a defense that has been elite to start the 2022 season.

San Francisco already ruled out RB Ty Davis-Price (ankle), TE Tyler Kroft (knee), LT Trent Williams (ankle) and S Tarvarius Moore (hamstring) Friday.

One of the few surprises was the non-elevation of DT Akeem Spence, potentially meaning starters Arik Armstead and Javon Kinlaw could be active for Week 4.

Armstead is dealing with plantar fasciitis that kept him out for Week 3 and Kinlaw sustained a knee issue the head coach Kyle Shanahan stated as a “flare-up” this week.

“Just flaring up on him. It’s kept him out this week. Hopefully he’ll be able to go,” Shanahan said after Saturday’s walkthrough.

Kinlaw, a first-round pick from South Carolina, suffered a torn ACL during Week 4 of the 2021 season. He had surgery to repair the issue but a flare-up is not a great sign for the defensive lineman.

The official inactive list will come about an hour before kickoff Monday night.

UPDATE: Javon Kinlaw tested out his knee during a pregame workout Monday. After a discussion with defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans and coaches, he did not look pleased.

He has now been ruled out for tonight’s contest.

Arik Armstead will suit up for Week 4 against the Rams, making for only a one week trip on the bench. He has been one of the most consistent members of this defense, featuring in all games since the 2017 season before missing Week 3.

Inactives:

DT Javon Kinlaw (knee)

WR Danny Gray (hip)

S Tarvarius Moore (hamstring)

LT Trent Williams (ankle)

RB Ty Davis-Price (ankle)

TE Tyler Kroft (knee)

OL Nick Zakelj
