The San Francisco 49ers are looking to add to their backfield this spring, bringing in a pair of running backs for the final days of Top-30 visits.
The 49ers have spent time with both UCLA RB Zach Charbonnet, and Texas RB Roschon Johnson in the past week or so. The former reportedly had a private workout with SF, while the latter visited the organization Wednesday.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported the news the last few days.

Charbonnet, 22, is a four-year starter in college, playing two seasons with Michigan before transferring to UCLA in 2021. The California native has workhorse potential at the next level, rushing for 3346 yards on 566 attempts in college. He also finished with 39 rushing scores and 589 receiving yards out of the backfield.
Charbonnet is currently ranked as the third best running back in this year’s draft class, expected to be selected between the second and third rounds.
While Roschon Johnson doesn’t have the overall numbers of his counterpart, he makes up for it on the tape.
Johnson, 22, played four seasons for the Texas Longhorns, splitting snaps with potential first-round RB Bijan Robinson. Appearing in 37 total games, the Texas native ran for 2190 yards and 23 scores in college. Johnson also showed pass-catching ability, snagging 56 catches for 420 receiving yards.
He is expected to be drafted between the third and fifth rounds next weekend.
The San Francisco 49ers have 11 selections in the upcoming draft. And if the rumors are true, they could continue their tradition of drafting a ballcarrier in the third round.
