Jimmy Garoppolo had a rough game in his first start since last season.
The 49ers quarterback went 1-10 on third downs and turned the ball over late in the game when he stepped out of his endzone, resulting in a safety.
Mark Schlereth, NFL broadcaster with Fox Sports and host “Schlereth and Evans” alongside Mike Evans on Denver’s 104.3 FM The Fan, joined Cattles & Ramie on Tuesday to discuss his takeaways from Sunday night’s game.
Topics discussed include:
- Reaction to Jimmy Garoppolo’s first start since last season
- The 49ers spent the offseason learning a Trey Lance playbook. It’ll take time for Jimmy Garoppolo and the team to readjust
- Was Kyle Shanahan too conservative with his playcalling Sunday night?
- The positive takeaways from the 49ers season so far is that the defense is really good
- How early is too early in the NFL to proclaim something isn’t working?
