In the closing moment of the first half, disaster hit the 49ers once again.
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw has been disqualified from Week 10’s contest against the LA Chargers. The play occurred with 38 seconds remaining in the first half as Herbert scrambled out of the pocket for the first down. Safety Jimmie Ward pushed the quarterback into an oncoming Greenlaw tackle, colliding helmet with the Chargers signal-caller.
After further discussion, NFL officials assessed a 15-yard penalty and ejected Greenlaw from the game.

Herbert remained out for the rest of the half, treating the potential head injury on the sideline. The Chargers closed out the half with a field goal, making the score 16-10 going into halftime.
Greenlaw, 25, just returned from a calf injury that kept him out Week 8 against the Rams.
