The San Francisco 49ers will get two key starters back in the fold Monday, with both Christian McCaffrey and Dre Greenlaw active for Week 7.
The 49ers have been hoping both men could suit up for their clash with the Minnesota Vikings, each dating with their own injuries. Able to see the practice field this week, coach Kyle Shanahan listed them as questionable for Monday night. Only one day of work is needed, as both are set to feature heavily for San Francisco.
McCaffrey was the biggest question mark for the 49ers, dealing with an oblique injury stemming from Week 6. Unable to play for most of the fourth quarter last week, his ability to play through the pain is noteworthy to say the least. Reports have emerged, describing the injury as a slight tear to his oblique. Determined to play through it however, McCaffrey will give it a go against the Vikings.
“Yeah, it was good to have him out there today. We don’t do anything really full-speed except for seven on, but the fact he was able to go out there today and feel good, just gives him a chance,” Shanahan said about Mccaffrey practicing Saturday. “We’ve just got to make sure he can go into that game on Monday and feel real good.”
Dre Greenlaw was also in doubt for the 49ers.
The linebacker is dealing with a hamstring injury suffered leading up to Week 6. Missing the Browns game proved how valuable he is to the team, now set to welcome him back to his starting spot alongside Fred Warner.

San Francisco will be without some big players Week 7, as wide receiver Deebo Samuel and left tackle Trent Williams have already been ruled out.
The former has the more severe injury, expected to be out until after the team’s bye week with a hairline fracture in his shoulder. Meanwhile, Williams is dealing with an ankle sprain, likely only missing the single contest.
Despite the injuries, the 49ers expect a “next-man-up” approach to Minnesota, looking to head home on the right note.
“I think everybody is going to have to step up,” McCaffrey said Saturday. “[Deebo Samuel] is such a dynamic player who can do so many things with the ball in his hands. We all got to step up.”
