The San Francisco 49ers had some good and bad news in Saturday’s injury report.
First the good news.
49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has been listed as questionable for Week 7’s clash with the Minnesota Vikings. The versatile player made his return to practice Saturday after dealing with an oblique injury stemming from Week 6.
Despite having DNPs on the first two days of the practice week, McCaffrey made his intentions to play clear to coach Kyle Shanahan. MRI results also went CMC’s way, encouraging to the coaching staff.
“I thought it was,” Shanahan said Wednesday about CMC’s MRI. “Anyone who is day-to-day means they got a chance [to play].”
At that McCaffrey does, eager to bounce back after a subpar day in Cleveland.

WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder)
Doubtful
T Trent Williams (ankle)
Questionable
RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique)
LB Dre Greenlaw (hamstring)
Joining him on the questionable list is linebacker Dre Greenlaw. Greenlaw missed Week 6 due to a hamstring injury, returning to the practice field this week.
Not all good news came the Red & Gold’s way though, as wide receiver Deebo Samuel has a hairline fracture in his shoulder. The wideout will be held out the next two games for the 49ers, eyeing a return to the field after the team’s Week 9 bye.
A CT scan revealed the injury for Samuel, occurring on the first play of Week 6. The 49ers are not considering the injury reserve for the player at this time.
Additionally, left tackle Trent Williams has been listed as doubtful with a sprained ankle. Williams played through the injury for most of Week 6, allowing a season-high four pressures on quarterback Brock Purdy.
