A day after George Kittle returned to 49ers practice, Deebo Samuel did the same, giving hope for a return to action very soon.
Reports emerged Thursday afternoon that San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver returned to the practice field. This marks the first time Samuel has practiced since suffering a calf strain late in Week 2’s clash with the Minnesota Vikings. While it remains unclear what his level of participation was at this time, his return to practice is an encouraging sign nonetheless.
ESPN’s Nick Wagoner was first to break the news Thursday.

The 49ers playmaker got hurt inn the closing minutes against the Vikings Week 2. Feeling stiffness in his lower leg after the fact, tests confirmed that Samuel strained his calf and would miss a few weeks. However, it seems he has recovered inn less time than expected, now putting his Week 4 status in a more optimistic tone.
In addition to Samuel, left tackle Trent Williams and linebacker Dee Winters returned to practice Thursday. The former missed Wednesday due to an illness, while the latter has been dealing with a lingering ankle injury.
