San Francisco 49ers standout defensive end Nick Bosa injured a knee during Sunday’s victory over the Arizona Cardinals, which has been revealed to be an ACL tear.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “Bosa now will need season-ending surgery.”

It’s the second time Bosa has suffered an ACL tear throughout his NFL career, with the first taking place in 2020. It’s the same knee as previously, according to Schefter.

Injuries continue to pile up for San Francisco with Brock Purdy’s status still in questions, along with George Kittle, Jauan Jennings, Brandon Aiyuk, and more.

With Bosa sidelined for the remainder of 2025, rookie Mykel Williams and other defensive linemen will need to step up in his absence.

They’re 3-0 start, along with easier schedule, could allow them to stay afloat, but it’s yet another big blow for San Francisco.

Eddy Pineiro drilled a 35-yard field goal as time expired to lift the San Francisco 49ers to a 16-15 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon in Santa Clara, Calif.

Christian McCaffrey combined for 140 yards from scrimmage and made a key reception to set up the game-winning field goal for San Francisco (3-0). Mac Jones completed 27 of 41 passes for 284 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Kyler Murray completed 22 of 35 passes for 159 yards and one touchdown for Arizona (2-1). Trey McBride had a team-high five catches for 43 yards and a score.
