How are the Sacramento Kings veterans handling the rough start?
During Sam Amick’s interview with Carmichael Dave and Jason Ross had some intriguing notes on several Kings veterans.
DeMar DeRozan, who has just $10 million of his $25 million salary for the 2026-27 season guaranteed, is expected to be in his final season with Sacramento, regardless of what happens. Amick adds that, among current Kings veterans, DeRozan is the most likely to have trade suitors due to his contract.
Regarding All-NBA center Domantas Sabonis, Amick says Sabonis is “being patient” amid the rough start. Sabonis is due to make $40+ million each season through 2027-28, making it unlikely that he is moved in the short term.
Zach LaVine, who has been under a microscope this season after being acquired in the De’Aaron Fox trade last season, hasn’t had the smoothest first full year in a Sacramento Kings uniform.
Sam reports that the Milwaukee Bucks have done some research on LaVine as they evaluate their future–with or without superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who may request a trade before the NBA Trade Deadline.
Listen to The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross from 6 – 10 a.m. PST, Monday through Friday, on Sactown Sports 1140.
