The Oakland Raiders have worked through training camp and the whole preseason so far without the services of former Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack. Mack and his camp are holding out for a new contract, with Khalil entering the final year of his four-year rookie deal.
Today, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden spoke with the media about the ongoing contract negotiations between the organization and the 27-year-old linebacker.
Vic Tafur of The Athletic asked about Mack after practice on Monday.
“I don’t want to put a timetable on it. It’s been a grueling process for both parties and the fans.”
Mack has already missed out on around $2 million by skipping preseason games and will forfeit $814,000 for every regular season game he skips.
