“The Drive” is bringing former Sacramento Kings onto the show to reflect on their time in the purple and black, talk basketball and much more!

This morning on “The Drive”, Carmichael Dave and Jason Ross had former Kings forward Jason Thompson on the show to reflect on his time as a Sacramento King.

Thompson, 33, was drafted by Sacramento out of Rider with the 12th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He played seven seasons with the Kings (2008-15), playing in 541 games (eighth all-time in franchise history) and also racking up 394 blocks (seventh all-time in franchise history).

Among Sacramento Kings all-time ranks, JT also ranks 10th in rebounds with 3,746.

Thompson, who currently plays basketball in Spain, is in the midst of an isolation period due to the current outbreak of the COVID-19 virus.

“Netlfix, 2k, Madden, keeping up on business matters,” Thompson said of what he was doing to stay busy during his time to himself. “Everyone’s situation is different”.

On his memories of being a Kings, JT recalled moving across the country to a place that welcomed him with open arms.

“Man, it’s a whirl-wind of emotion obviously, you have me being from 3,000 miles away in New Jersey, coming into this great organization with a lot of history”, he said. “You pretty don’t get to look back on things until you get a little bit older and wiser”.

Throughout the interview, JT discusses what it has been like to play basketball overseas, his time as a King where he experienced eight head coaches and much more.
