Bazemore joined the show to talk about the restart of the NBA season, life in the ‘bubble’ and much more!

This week on The Carmichael Dave Show, Sacramento Kings guard Kent Bazemore joined the show to catch up with Dave and JayMarzz about the restart of the NBA season.

Sacramento acquired Bazemore back in January from the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for forward Trevor Ariza. Since the trade, Bazmore has become a fan-favorite in Sacramento with his hustle-style play and upbeat personality on and off the court.

In 21 games with the Kings, Bazemore holds averages of 10.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 38-percent from beyond the three-point line.

The NBA season is set to restart on July 30th in Orlando, Florida at the ESPN Wide World of Sports located within Walt Disney World Resort. Along with the Kings, 21 other franchises also are living within the ‘bubble’ site–where the players and coaches must remain until they are eliminated from postseason contention.

On what life is like in the bubble, Bazemore told the guys that the world feels like it has stopped within the bubble.

“It’s kind of eery. We’ve been here… I don’t even know how long now, but I went and played golf the other day and there were cars and people walking around; Being inside it just feels like the world has stopped,” he said. “Everything is so airtight here. It’s kind of good to see that civilization is moving around outside of the bubble. (The NBA) is doing a really good job of having this live up to its name.”

Sacramento is currently trailing the eighth-seed Memphis Grizzlies by 3.5 games. With eight games left to play, Bazemore shared why he thinks this Kings team can make noise in Orlando.

“When you see teams get hot like Sacramento, like they do with all of the shooting, it’s special. Buddy, Belly (Bjelica), Bogi, Harrison; Cory Jo (Joseph) running the show in the second unit, you just have all of this length. When you have all of these tools, it’s like ‘wow’. Our first game, I just loved how they weren’t afraid to get on each-other. Guys are really, really receptive to constructive criticism. Those are the boxes that you want to check off in order to be a team that competes every-night. We can play with the best of them. We’ve showed it, so let’s go out and do it.”

Bazemore will be a free-agent at the end of the season. When asked if he could see himself being apart of the Kings’ future, the 31 year-old made it clear that he is open to a reunion this offseason.

“Being in the position that I was in over the past season and a half, I wasn’t really playing my best basketball. I came to Sacramento and there was this warmth, I was just injected with a lot of confidence. Some stuff just feels right. I got out there and got my feet wet and started playing my best basketball again. When you get those kinds of feelings, you just kind of want to stay in there and ride the wave as long as you can.”
