The former National College Player of the Year will join the Kings for the league minimum

Due to the departures of Alex Len and Harry Giles III, the Sacramento Kings needed to make a move to shore up their depth at the power forward and center positions.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Kings have reportedly signed seven-footer Frank Kaminsky to a one-year deal.

Kaminsky, 27, was drafted by Charlotte with the ninth-overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft after the Wisconsin standout finished a successful collegiate career.

The forward/center was the recipient of the National College Player of the Year Award during the 2014-15 season after averaging 18.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.

Known for his ability to stretch the floor, Kaminsky should be able to provide the Kings with a bench option to slide into the lineup in situations where the three-ball is needed.

Since being drafted in 2015, Kaminsky is shooting 34-percent from the three-point line and 42-percent from the field for his career.

Kaminsky was a solid role-player for the Phoenix Suns during the 2019-20 season, playing in nearly 20 minutes per game over 39 contests.

The veteran posted averages of 9.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.4 steals per game while shooting 45-percent from the field–most notably hitting 55-percent of his attempts from three-to-ten feet from the basket.

Sacramento’s current depth at the power forward and center positions now appears as follows:

Center: Richaun Holmes, Hassan Whiteside, Frank Kaminsky

Power Forward: Marvin Bagley III, Nemanja Bjelica, Jabari Parker
