Fox has been honored for his monster week of play that resulted in a four-game Kings winning streak

De’Aaron Fox has put the rest of the league on notice.

The Sacramento Kings guard was named Western Conference Player of the Week after averaging 31.0 points and 8.8 assists per game on 54-percent shooting from the field and 38-percent from three-point range.

Fox’s play has been the driving force behind the current four-game winning streak for Sacramento, who have also been winners in seven of their past eight contests.

The 23-year-old is the first Sacramento Kings player to be honored as Player of the Week since DeMarcus Cousins in January of the 2016-17 season.

Sacramento has been playing its best basketball of the season, pulling themselves back above the .500 mark after starting the season 5-10. The solid stretch of play by the team begins and ends with Fox, who is enjoying a career-year in his fourth NBA season.

Over 23 games, Fox is averaging 23.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 48-percent from the field and 36-percent from downtown.

‘Swipa’ is among the league leaders in getting to the line this season, coming in at ninth in free-throw attempts (150). Fox is also currently 10th in the league in total assists (150) and 17th in points scored this season (528).

Along with Fox in the Western Conference, two-time MVP Giannis Antentokounmpo was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for his efforts.

Not bad company for the Kings star guard.
