The Sacramento Kings backcourt is starting to become a big problem for the NBA.

Buddy Hield and De’Aaron Fox scored 28 points each as the Kings beat the Dallas Mavericks 120-113 on Sunday night in Dallas, snapping the Mav’s 11-game home winning streak.

Sacramento rebounded from a tough Friday night loss to Golden State, as they improved to 9-7 on the road and 16-13 overall. Dallas, who is off to a surprisingly hot start themselves, came into Sunday’s game holding a league best 13-2 record at home.

The Kings overcame the home court advantage and a 28 point performance by the third pick in this years draft, Luka Doncic.

De’Aaron Fox sealed the game in the fourth when he sunk a floater to push the Kings lead to 114-107 with 1:21 remaining. Fox then put the cherry on top as he found Willie Cauley-Stein twice for alley-oops in the final 51 seconds. The second-year guard is averaging 21.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists over his past five contests.

Buddy Hield had a big first half for Sacramento as he scored 17 points over the first 24 minutes to give the Kings a three point lead at the intermission. Buddy finished with 28 points on 12-of-23 from the field, as he continues to be the go-to scorer for this offense. The third-year guard from Oklahoma is leading the Kings in scoring this season with 18.9 points per game, a big improvement from last season when he averaged 13.5 points per game.

Hield scored over 20 points for the 15th time this season, while Fox had his 12th game with 20 or more points.

Playing on Sunday without the services of Iman Shumpert and Marvin Bagley III, the Kings starters pickup up the slack as all five players ended up in double figures. Nemanja Bjelica grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with 15 points, and Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 15 points in his third start of the season.

With their ninth win away from home, only Toronto has more wins on the road this season (12).

Last season, the Kings didn’t secure their ninth road win until their 50th game on January 30th of this year.
