Athletics Acquire Jeurys Familia

The Oakland Athletics have acquired reliever Jeurys Familia from the New York Mets according to Jane Lee. The Athletics will send prospects Will Toffey and Bobby Wahl to the Mets for the 28-year-old right-handed pitcher.

Hearing the A’s and Mets have finalized a trade. A’s sending two prospects, plus international slot money, to Mets for Jeurys Familia.

On the season, Familia has a 2.88 ERA with 17 saves, and a 1.230 WHIP in 40.2 innings pitched.

As a team, the Athletics bullpen ranks eighth in the MLB in ERA, standing at 3.52. Familia will presumably be the set-up man for All-Star closer Blake Treinen.
