Sacramento will face the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night at Golden 1 Center

When the Sacramento Kings take the floor on Saturday night, they will hope to have a few familiar faces back in the lineup when they face the Los Angeles Clippers.

After defeating the Clippers on Wednesday night at STAPLES Center without the services of forwards Harrison Barnes (foot sprain), Marvin Bagley III (non-COVID illness) and Moe Harkless (knee soreness), Sacramento has enjoyed back-to-back off-days as they prepare for a rematch against Los Angeles at Golden 1 Center.

Harrison Barnes

Barnes injured his right foot after taking a bad step on the way to the basket during the closing moments of the third quarter back on November 24th while facing Portland.

The veteran forward has missed the past four games due to a foot sprain, but Barnes is nearing a return after practicing with Sacramento’s G-League affiliate Stockton on Thursday and participating in Friday’s practice with the big league team.

With three-consecutive off-days following Saturday’s game, it appears that the team will hold Barnes out until Wednesday’s matchup against Orlando at the earliest.

Barnes was assigned to Stockton on Saturday morning, ruling him out of the upcoming matchup against the Clippers.

Marvin Bagley III

After missing the past two games due to a non-COVID illness, Marvin Bagley III returned to practice on Friday morning.

Gentry shared that Bagley is still feeling “a bit under the weather” and stated that the 22-year-old is considered questionable for Saturday night’s game. A small sickness bug appears to have bitten the team over the past week, with Richaun Holmes also having missed a game due to a non-COVID illness.

As of 1:30pm PST on Saturday, Bagley is not listed on the team’s injury report.

Bagley has looked strong in his return to the rotation, averaging 9.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists on 71-percent shooting from the field and 60-percent shooting from beyond the three-point arc.

Moe Harkless

Harkless (knee sprain) will not play on Saturday night, according to Gentry.

The 28-year-old exited Sacramento’s triple-overtime win over the Los Angeles Lakers after taking a bad step in the first half.

With three more off-days on the horizon following Saturday’s contest against the Clippers, Gentry told the media that the training staff wants Harkless to take advantage of the down-time.

Harkless isn’t considered to miss much more time and is considered day-to-day.

Richaun Holmes

During practice on Friday, Holmes told the media that he “felt better than (he) thought” he would after suffering a scary fall during Wednesday night’s game in Los Angeles.

Holmes said he is feeling fine after the fall, and also stated that his right eye that was injured during last Friday’s loss to Philadelphia is healing as well.
