Fox joins the growing list of NBA players that have entered the league’s COVID protocols

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox has entered the NBA’s COVID-19 Health & Safety protocols.

Fox will need to register successive negative tests 24 hours apart in order to return to basketball activities.

Fox joins Marvin Bagley III, Terence Davis and head coach Alvin Gentry in the league’s protocols, while Charania reports that could be more players and team staff entering protocols before Friday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The star guard had scored 28 points or more in four of his last five games, the most recent being a 28-point showing during Sacramento’s win over Washington on Wednesday night.

It is currently unknown exactly how many players and staff will be entered into safety protocols, but for now, the Kings have three players in protocols and an injured Richaun Holmes (eye) sidelined.

If Sacramento is unable to roster eight healthy players for Friday night’s game, it’s possible that the NBA postpones the matchup to a later date.

This is a developing story.
