Raiders Trade For Pro Bowl Wide Receiver Davante Adams

The AFC West just got a lot crazier.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Las Vegas Raiders has acquired five-time Prow Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers in a blockbuster deal that will reunite the former Fresno Bulldog with his college quarterback, Derek Carr.

In return for Adams, the Raiders have sent multiple picks to Green Bay, including their 2022 first-round pick for next month’s NFL Draft.

Adams will sign a five-year extension with the Raiders upon his arrival that will pay the 29-year-old $141 million over the next five years.

By signing the massive deal, Adams will become the highest-paid receiver in the NFL.

The Adams-to-Vegas hype began to pick up steam earlier this month when it was discovered that the star purchased a home in the Las Vegas area.

During the 2020 regular season, Adams led the NFL with 18 touchdowns before racking up 1,553 receiving yards during the 2021 campaign.

Over eight seasons, Adams finished with over 1,000 receiving yards in three of those seasons while pulling in 10 or more touchdowns in five seasons.

By joining the Raiders, Derek Carr finally has his former college teammate in the black and silver as Las Vegas answered the moves made by their AFC West counterparts in massive fashion.

Carr and Adams played together at Fresno State during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, hooking up for 38 touchdowns over 26 games while leading the Bulldogs to a 20-6 record over 26 games.

With Adams joining a talented group of receiving options that includes fellow Pro Bowler Hunter Renfrow, Las Vegas is proving that they intend on challenging the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos this upcoming season as all teams vie for the AFC West championship.
