As the MLB trade deadline approaches, more reports are trickling out about what teams could do on or by Tuesday, Aug. 2.

As of July 28, the Oakland A’s are longshots to make the postseason. The Giants, on the other hand, have better odds of being in the postseason. Despite a recent seven-game losing streak, there is still hope for the Giants, who are only two games under .500 and 3.5 games out of the last Wild Card spot.

And according to ESPN’s Buster Olney,  the Giants do not plan to be sellers at the trade deadline.

If the Giants change their minds and make a move at the MLB trade deadline, Rodón could be one of the more attractive players available before the Aug. 2 deadline. The Giants’ pitcher has a 3.18 ERA and an 8-6 record in 20 games. Pederson would also benefit any team with postseason aspirations, as the outfielder sits at a .244 hitting average with an OBP of .319.

On the other side of the Bay, ESPN’s Jess Passan reported on Wednesday that A’s pitcher Frankie Montas may have pitched his last game for the Athletics.

“Among the teams hottest after them, according to sources: The St. Louis Cardinals, Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees. The Minnesota Twins, Toronto Blue Jays and San Diego Padres also have been on the hunt for pitching,” Passan wrote for ESPN.

That’s plenty of interest for the 29-year-old pitcher who is averaging a 3.18 ERA this season for the A’s.

With less than a week before the trade deadline, both clubs will have plenty to ponder.
