Last night the Houston Rockets defeated the defending champion Golden State Warriors for the second straight game, taking a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference Finals. However, the exciting 98-94 contest was overshadowed by the very late injury to arguably the best player of the series thus far, Chris Paul.

Paul had 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists before injuring his hamstring in the final minutes of the game. Now, with the opportunity to keep the Warriors from the NBA Finals for the first time in four seasons, the Rockets will be without CP3 for game six on Saturday.

The Golden State Warriors have been dealing with injuries of their own, experiencing a small scare as Klay Thompson appeared to injure his knee in game four. However, he was able to play last night and is expected to be fine for the remainder of the playoffs.

Andre Iguodala has not been so lucky.

Iguodala has missed the last two games with a knee injury and is officially listed as questionable for game six. Although not one of the top-four of the Warriors roster, Iguodala is an important piece of Golden State’s rotation and his absence has clearly had an effect on his team’s flow.

Scoring is down, assists numbers are way down, and the team itself is down to one more loss before elimination. Backs against the wall, the Warriors may be at their most dangerous, and could be back to full strength, against a weakened Houston team on Saturday.
