NFLPA Files Reply Brief To NFL’s Appeal Of Watson Suspension

The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) announced Friday it has filed a reply brief to the NFL’s appeal of Deshaun Watson’s 6-game suspension.
The NFLPA announced the move in a tweet. Friday was the deadline for the NFLPA to file its brief.
On Wednesday, the NFL announced its plans to appeal Deshaun Watson’s 6-game suspension. Judge Sue L. Robinson, the NFL and NFL Players Association’s jointly appointed disciplinary officer announced the suspension on Monday. According to reports, the NFL is looking for an indefinite suspension.
According to NFL reporter Albert Breer, Commissioner Roger Goodell appointed New Jersey Attorney General Peter C. Harvey to hear the appeal.

Watson signed a five-year, $230 million extension with the Browns following a trade from the Houston Texans.
The 26-year-old quarterback has denied any wrongdoing and has not been criminally charged for the accusations levied against him. Earlier this summer, Watson reached settlements with 20 of the 24 women who accused him of sexual misconduct during massage therapy sessions. On Monday, the day Judge Robinson’s initial decision was released, three of the four remaining civil cases against Watson were settled.
