The San Francisco Giants are adding another bronze plaque to its Wall of Fame.

Hunter Pence, a member of the 2012 and 2014 World Series championship teams, is the latest addition to the team’s honorary club.

The Wall of Fame was created in 2008 as a way to honor the team’s greatest players and contributors. To join the wall, players need to have played a minimum of nine seasons or five seasons with at least one All-Star appearance, or won three World Series Championships with the Giants. As a member of the Giants, Pence made four All-Star Games appearances in eight seasons, hitting .265 with 391 runs scored, 135 doubles, 26 triples, 95 home runs and 412 RBI in 789 games. Pence retired at the end of the 2020 season. He is now a member of the MLB Network’s on-air analysis team.

Pence joins 54 other Giants legends like Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, and Jeff Kent along King Street.

“The Giants Wall of Fame is a place where we permanently honor both players and individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the organization and Hunter is definitely one of those players,” Larry Baer, Giants President and CEO said in a press release.

Pence said he’s humbled by the honor.

“To be included among people who I consider legends of the organization is surreal and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude to even be considered,” Pence said in the press release. “The Giants organization and the San Francisco community are my family.”

The special ceremony is scheduled to take place before the Giants and Dodgers game on Saturday, Sept. 17. Click here for tickets.
