The San Francisco 49ers have entered their final week of preparation before their first preseason game against the Green Bay Packers Friday.

With the team off Monday, the Red & Gold hit training camp hard Tuesday and on the defensive side of the ball, the standouts from practice were defensive ends Nick Bosa and Drake Jackson.

What more is there to say about Bosa than he’s a freak of nature? The 24-year-old All-Pro defensive end showcased his explosiveness early in practice, exploding through the lineman drills like a bull in a china shop.

Take a look at the sheer burst he possesses.

The same explosiveness carried into the 11-0n-11s, where Nick Bosa constantly got into the backfield against first to third string offensive tackles. One play in particular, Bosa had beaten his matchup in one second flat, getting the would-be sack on QB Trey Lance. The only time Bose saw any resistance was in the 1-on-1 drills at the start of practice, and that was because the best left tackle in the league, Trent Williams, was his matchup.

Drake Jackson also had a stellar day Tuesday, particularly in the 1 v. 1s, beating his opposition on numerous occasions. His most impressive play came at this time as well, dropping the OT will a nice outside-in maneuver that got him to the quarterback instantaneously.

My jaw hit the floor folks, only able to tweet out this.

Woah indeed.

The All-Pro Bosa had previously commented on Jackson’s potential, and the whole defensive line for that matter, as rookie right guard Spencer Burford believes the team motto: Iron sharpens iron.

“I feel we got one of, if not the best defensive line in the league,” Burford said post-practice Tuesday. “I mean if you look across the board they’re stacked. So every day you’re going against the best players in the league so that’s the best type of competition. Iron sharpens iron at the end of the day.”

Jackson is currently listed as the backup left defense end on the depth chart, behind returning starter Samson Ebukam. Don’t be surprised to see him climb the leaderboard, sooner rather than later.
