A week after Nick Bosa, Fred Warner and George Kittle were announced on the NFL’s Top 100 list, two more 49ers received their votes as top-20 players Sunday.

All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel and left tackle Trent Williams were announced on NFL Network as members of the NFL’s Top 100 list, both eclipsing the top 20 mark.

Samuel got his nomination first, slotting in at his jersey number, 19, on the NFL’s 2022 rankings.

Deebo had his most productive year as a pro in 2021, coming off nagging injuries the year prior.

The “wide back” is entering his fourth NFL season since being drafted by the 49ers in 2019. The former second-round pick has appeared in 38 games over three seasons in San Francisco, notching 3,148 total scrimmage yards, 2,598 receiving yards on 167 catches and 21 total touchdowns.

Samuel finished the 2021 season with 77 receptions, 1,770 all-purpose yards (third most in the league) and 14 touchdowns (6 receiving, 8 rushing). He also led the NFL with an average of 18.2 yards per catch and ranked No. 1 among all receivers with an average of 10 yards after the catch,” the 49ers wrote, via the team’s website.

Samuel’s output as an all-around offensive weapon earned him his first pro bowl and All-Pro honors last season. The “wideback” signed a three years, $71.5 million at the start of training camp, locking the former South Carolina Gamecock down for the foreseeable future.

Williams was the last of the Red & Gold to receive his ranking, coming in at No.14 on the NFL’s top 100.

A two-year team captain, Williams was traded to the Bay Area from the Washington Commanders in 2020. The 33-year-old has been the best offensive tackle in the NFL since joining the team, leaving many to wonder why he was snubbed from the top 10.

“Trent’s one of the most athletic and fluid athletes at that position that I’ve personally ever seen,” Arizona Cardinals linebacker Devon Kennard said, via the team’s website.

Nevertheless, both management and the players should feel great about the rankings as seven members of the 49ers made the top 100 list this year. Eight if you count former starting QB Jimmy Garoppolo, just missing the cut at 106th.
