MIAMI, FLORIDA - MARCH 23: Jordan Poole #3 of the Golden State Warriors is congratulated by Draymond Green #23 of the Golden State Warriors after hitting a three point shot during the second half against the Miami Heat at FTX Arena on March 23, 2022 in Miami, Florida. On Thursday, multiple reports came out saying a fight broke out at Wednesday’s Golden State Warriors practice.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Anthony Slater reported on Thursday that Draymond Green “forcefully struck Poole and needed to be separated swiftly.” The report went on to say both players “came chest-to-chest” with shoving happening before they were separated.

The report notes the team is “seriously considering” disciplining Green.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski got into a bit more detail with his report, saying Green threw a punch at Poole. His report also notes no injuries were reported following the incident.

Things got interesting when Yahoo! Sports senior NBA insider Chris Haynes said “there was a buildup stemming from teammates noticing a change in Poole’s behavior throughout camp with the guard on the verge of securing a lucrative extension. He followed that tweet by saying the two players “have a history.”

But Andre Iguodala jumped in to defend his young teammate.

By the end of the night, KRON-TV’s Jason Dumas was reporting that Poole was “in good spirits” as he got up shots after the incident and that Green “apologized to the team. Feels that as a leader, he let his emotions get the best of him, in turn letting the team down.”

The Warriors have not yet commented on the incident.
