Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr announced Draymond Green will return to the team on Thursday.

The news came following the team’s preseason win over the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night.

Green has been away from the team following a report and leaked video footage of Green punching teammate Jordan Poole during practice.

Kerr went on to say the team did not suspend him and that he is expected to play in the team’s final preseason game this Friday and on opening night.

“We feel like we have a great feel for our team, we got a lot of continuity on our team, so Bob [Myers] and I know our players very well. We feel like this is the best way, after assessing everything, for us to move forward,” Kerr said. “It’s never easy, no matter what decision you make, in a situation like this, it’s not going to be perfect. This was the biggest crisis we’ve ever had since I’ve been coach here. It’s really serious stuff.”

Last Saturday, Draymond Green spoke to the media, again apologizing to his teammates and the Warriors organization. Reports say he first apologized to the team the day after the incident happened.

“I was wrong for my actions that took place on Wednesday and for that I have apologized to my team. I have apologized to Jordan,” Green said when he spoke to the media over the weekend.
