Kevin Huerter is one of several new players on the Sacramento Kings.
Chima Moneke, KZ Okpala, Keegan Murray and Malik Monk joined the team in the offseason. Guys like Trey Lyles and Domantas Sabonis should see their first full year with the team after they joined midway through the 2021-22 season.
All this is to say, this Kings’ roster is built for the modern NBA. This isn’t a team that’ll back guys down in the paint.
In an interview with Uproxx, Huerter gave his perspective on how this team, with its multiple positionless players, fits into what the NBA looks like today and where the league is headed.
“The way Domas [Sabonis] plays, and his passing ability, and De’Aaron’s [Fox] ability to get up and down the court and play fast and get downhill,” Kevin Huerter told Uproxx. “Sometimes having bigger guys on the court can slow that down a bit — and the flow of the offense. I think what you’ve seen them do here, bringing myself, drafting Keegan [Murray], having a guy like Harrison [Barnes] around and Trey Lyles, we can all play multiple positions. De’Aaron can slide to the two, I think really everybody can be versatile and play a lot of different ways.”
