The Arizona Cardinals will likely roll with backup quarterback Colt McCoy in their Monday Night Football matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, according to Good Morning Football’s Peter Schrager.

The insider said on Fox NFL Kickoff Sunday morning that Arizona is “leaning” toward starting McCoy over Kyler Murray, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, in Mexico City.

NFL Network colleague Ian Rapoport added early Monday that McCoy “appears set to start.”

Murray was listed as questionable on Saturday’s injury report, while McCoy is available to play despite getting banged up (knee) last week in a start against the Los Angeles Rams.

McCoy was limited in practice on Thursday and upgraded to full participation on Friday, while Murray was limited all week.

The veteran backup operated the offense effectively last week in a 27-17 win at SoFi Stadium, his first start of the year.

He is 3-1 as a starter with Arizona since he signed as a free agent ahead of the 2021 season.

The Cardinals are battling for their playoff hopes, as the team is 4-6 and entered Week 11 two games back of the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks.

The 49ers are one of the teams Arizona is chasing at 5-4.
