The Las Vegas Raiders could soon see some big names return from injured reserve.

During Wednesday’s media session, coach Josh McDaniels was asked about the status of Nate Hobbs, Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow.

The Raiders cornerback practiced last week after being designated to return from IR but was kept out of the Seattle game because of an illness. Hobbs has been sidelined since breaking a bone in his hand during the Week 5 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

“Nate’s feeling better, and hopefully that will take form here this week,” McDaniels said. “So, again, we probably won’t know a whole lot on some of these guys until at least tomorrow, based on what we’re doing today and how we’re going to kind of go through this day today. But like I said, I think we have a lot of guys headed in the right direction.”

The coach went on to say he’s excited to get Hobbs back.

“A player of his caliber and toughness and energy and the way he plays and competes, so I’m excited to have an opportunity to hopefully get him back this week, and I know he is too,” McDaniels said.

Next week, Waller and Renfrow are able to be designated to return from their IR slots. McDaniels told the media he believes the two are close, but since the team plays on Thursday night, it will be hard to play guys who have limited time to practice.

“It’s the same thing we did with Hobbs last week. It’s hard to say he’s going to play and hasn’t practiced in a month and a half,” McDaniels said. “So, you don’t want to do a disservice to the player. So yeah, they’re getting closer, no doubt. They’re working really hard to get back as soon as they can. We’re aware of the clock, and we’ll have to make a smart decision when that time comes.
