Don’t look now but the Las Vegas Raiders are riding a three-game winning streak, sitting just two spots behind the New York Jets for the final wildcard slot.

The Raiders’ winning streak comes on the heels of quarterback Derek Carr delivering an emotional press conference following the team’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10.

“Things needed to be said, things need to be handled,” Carr said. “When you love a place and you love an organization, when you love something so much, you put your heart into it. To see the way we’ve responded since then, it’s a proud moment for me. I’m happy about it. But we’ve got a long way to go until I feel really good about it.”

Carr finished the day 16-30 for 250 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Heading into halftime with a 13-10 deficit, the Raiders’ quarterback zeroed in on his college teammate and friend, Davante Adams, in the second half. In the third quarter, Carr hit Adams twice for big plays.

“Yeah, the third quarter was where the game was decided today,” Chargers coach Brandon Staley said after the game. “Coming out of the half, we had a good screen going, we fumble, and then we give up a tough pass in the end zone. It was really a good throw and catch, we were right on him. Give credit to them. And then the next drive, it’s a two-play drive, it was kind of the one punch on the flea-flicker. Bryce [Callahan] kind of pulled up at the end, but that was the story, those two big passes, and give credit to them.”

Adams finished the day with a season-high 177 yards and two touchdowns. His 12 total touchdowns for the year tie him for most in the NFL with Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce.

Across The AFC West

The Raiders were the only AFC West team to win on Sunday. Denver lost to the Baltimore Ravens by one point, 10-9. This is the fourth-straight loss by the Broncos. The Kansas City Chiefs lost for only the third time this season, 27-24 to the Bengals. Joe Burrow and Cincinnati appear to have the Chiefs’ number, beating Kansas City for the third straight time in less than a calendar year.

Who’s Next For The Raiders?

The Black and Silver have a quick turnaround, facing off against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night, Dec. 8.

“We’re going to cram, they’re going to cram, and nobody’s going to do a whole lot physically in the next few days and try to get as healthy as we can get,” Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said following Sunday’s win. “And then go out there Thursday with as much energy as we can bring and go play the best football we can on Thursday night.”
