The Sacramento Kings are turning heads around the NBA, and Malik Monk has been a massive part of the team’s recent success.

Monk led all Kings scorers with 20 points (eight-of-16 shooting from the field) during Sunday’s 110-101 win over the Chicago Bulls. The 24-year-old also dished out five assists and swiped two steals in Sacramento’s third-straight victory.

Following the win, Monk spoke to the media about the energy he aims to bring off the bench, the wild atmosphere at Golden 1 Center, and much more.

Monk, who inked a two-year, $19 million deal with Sacramento back in July, is off to a strong start in his Kings career as the former Kentucky guard is averaging 14.7 points and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 48 percent from the field–all career-highs.

The Sacramento Kings entered the 2022-23 season hoping to break a 16-year playoff drought. After hiring Mike Brown as the team’s new coach, the Kings drafted Keegan Murray as the number four overall pick. They continued to make moves over the summer, trading for Kevin Huerter and signing multiple free agents, including guard Malik Monk.
