On the heels of Tuesday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets, there is a possibility that Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis will suit up for Wednesday night’s rematch between the two Western Conference opponents at Golden 1 Center.

Sabonis, who is currently dealing with an avulsion fracture of the ulnar collateral ligament of the right thumb, got shots up on Tuesday and was in high spirits as he hoped to battle through the injury and rejoin his teammates on Wednesday.

Sacramento wanted to wait and see how Sabonis responded to Tuesday’s shooting session before deciding his status for tonight’s game against the Nuggets.

It’s currently unknown if the 26-year-old was a participant during this morning’s shootaround session, but the team has labeled the big man as questionable against Denver.

It makes more sense for the Kings to limit Sabonis during the back-to-back against two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, and a return on the final night of the two-game set appears to be in play.

More information on Sabonis’ status is expected to come during the hours leading into tonight’s 7:00 PM PST tip-off.

Injury Report

Sacramento

  • Domantas Sabonis – QUESTIONABLE (avulsion fracture of the ulnar collateral ligament of the right thumb)
  • Chima Moneke & Keon Ellis are on assignment with G-League affiliate Stockton.

Denver

  • Aaron Gordon – QUESTIONABLE (right shoulder strain)
  • Bruce Brown Jr. – QUESTIONABLE (right ankle sprain)
  • Jamal Murray – QUESTIONABLE (left knee injury management)
  • Jeff Green – OUT (finger/hand fracture)
  • Collin Gillespie – OUT (leg fracture)

Sacramento will complete the back-to-back set against the Nuggets on Wednesday night before finishing their homestand against the Utah Jazz on Friday.
