As things stand right now, a Sacramento Kings game will not be seen on ESPN or TNT for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.

Jonathan Feigen, Houston Rockets beat writer for the Houston Chronicle, tweeted Thursday that the team’s upcoming game against the Kings on ESPN has been dropped. ESPN will now, instead, show the Phoenix Suns take on the Denver Nuggets.

The game would have showcased two young teams, with rookies Keegan Murray and Jabari Smith Jr., the numbers three and four picks in the 2022 draft, facing off for the first time this season.

With the loss of the Rockets game on ESPN, the Kings are no longer scheduled to be on national television. The team does, however, have three more games on NBA TV. And things can change if the team continues to win and stay in the playoff hunt.

The Kings have played one game on TNT, defeating the Brooklyn Nets 153-121.

The Sacramento Kings entered the 2022-23 season hoping to break a 16-year playoff drought. After hiring Mike Brown as the team’s new coach, the Kings drafted Keegan Murray as the number four overall pick. They continued to make moves over the summer, trading for Kevin Huerter and signing multiple free agents, including guard Malik Monk.
