After a long, long wait, the time has finally come for the 49ers: Playoff football.

The San Francisco 49ers will open up their 2022 NFL postseason berth as the No. 2 seed in the NFC, hosting a familiar foe in the Seattle Seahawks. San Francisco has played their Northwest rivals twice this season, defeating them on both occasions. The pair’s last meeting ended with a 21-13 win for the 49ers in Seattle, clinching the NFC West Week 15.

San Francisco looks to be the healthier of the squads as well, only listing two players as “out” for Super Wild Card Weekend. The 49ers will get linebacker Dre Greenlaw (back) and left guard Aaron Banks (knee) back on the field, both missing Week 18 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Despite the mismatch on paper, the Red & Gold aren’t taking their opponents lightly. Beating them in the regular season is in the past for San Francisco, a team that is only focused on going 1-0 this week.

“For me, I look at it as this is this game this week. I don’t look at it as the third time or I can’t look at as the third time,” 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans said Wednesday. “It’s all new. They’ve done different things, different tendencies from the last time we played them, so all of that really doesn’t matter about three times, it’s about this time and how are we going to go play this time? It’s playoff football, how are we going to go out and play our style of football? What happened before the previous two games, it really doesn’t affect when we kick the ball off on Saturday. It has no meaning on what happens on the field. We have to be the best team on Saturday for three and a half hours.”

What time does the playoff game game start?

Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. PST on Saturday, Jan. 14th at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Where can I watch the game?

The game will air live on FOX. Joe Davis (play-by-play) and Day Johnston (color analyst) will be on the call. Pam Oliver (sideline reporter) will join them.
