Sacramento Kings center Neemias Queta has been selected for the NBA G-League Next Up game, and the second-year big man will be heading to All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The G-League Next Up Game will take place on Sunday, February 19th at 12:00 p.m. PT and air live on NBA TV from the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City as part of NBA All-Star 2023.

Queta, the 39th overall pick from the 2021 NBA Draft, is currently in his second season with the Kings while playing on a two-way contract between the big league club and G-League affiliate Stockton.

The 23-year-old is currently averaging 16.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.2 blocks (second in the league) per game while shooting 68 percent from the field over 13 appearances.

While Queta has yet to get an extended look at the NBA level over his first two seasons, the Portuguese product has continued to post impressive numbers at the G-League level, including a monstrous 38-point, 18-rebound effort back on November 26th against the Santa Cruz Warriors.

If Sacramento struggles with finding stability at the backup center position and defending the paint following Thursday’s trade deadline, help could be just down the road in Stockton as Queta continues to work towards a full-time NBA roster spot.
