The San Francisco 49ers made one of their first moves of the offseason this weekend.

The Red & Gold have reportedly signed long-snapper Taybor Pepper to a long-term extension to stay in the Bay Area. Pepper hinted at a done deal Saturday when he posted a video to his social media accounts, thanking The Faithful for the past three seasons.

The rumors were confirmed shortly thereafter by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Pepper signed a three-year deal with $1.5 million guaranteed to keep him in SF until the 2026 offseason.

Taybor Pepper had been a journeyman special-teams player before joining the 49ers in 2020, including a tryout with the team in 2018. He took over for LS Kyle Nelson, who previously had been with the organization since 2014.

The special teamer has since grown into a vital contributor for the Red & Gold, helping kicker Robbie Gould maintain an excellent mark of 86.5 percent on field goals in his career and 98 percent on point-after attempts in 2022. The 40-year-old

Gould is a free agent this offseason as well, but with Pepper staying put, could his kicker be next?
