Domantas Sabonis #10 of the Sacramento Kings looks to shoot as Andrew Wiggins #22 and Kevon Looney #5 of the Golden State Warriors defend during the second quarter in Game One of the Western Conference First Round Playoffs at the Golden 1 Center on April 15, 2023 in Sacramento, California. Sacramento Kings TV play-by-play broadcaster Mark Jones joined the Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross Monday to talk about being able to call the game on ABC, the excitement from fans all weekend and how the team can get a 2-0 lead over the Warriors.

“To not shoot it well and not play to their style in the first half, only scoring 55 points, for Sacramento that’s a subpar half. To be able to remain poised and get back to the way that they play despite [Domantas] Sabonis not having a great night, despite [Kevin] Huerter not having a great night, despite rookie Keegan Murray not having a great night offensively, I thought it was awesome. And that’s a real credit to Mike Brown and his coaching staff,” Jones said.

Topics discussed include:

  • Enjoying the moment with Kings fans after the game
  • How did the Sacramento crowd compare to other arenas he’s broadcasted in before
  • The Kings handled adversity “extremely well”
  • De’Aaron shining in the playoff spotlight
  • How do the Kings get the best version of Domantas Sabonis in Game 2?
  • Being able to call Game 1 for ABC and the first playoff game for the Kings since 2006
