Keegan Murray had a heck of a rookie season.

Not only did he start for a playoff team, he also broke the NBA’s all-time rookie record for three-pointers made and owns the longest streak by a rookie in franchise history for three-pointers made with 32 consecutive games in a single season.

But the keyword in all of that…rookie. Just because he was able to contribute quickly to a team that finished 3rd in the Western Conference, didn’t mean he got out of rookie hazing by his teammates.

“I picked up Chick-Fil-A every away game, it was like $300 every single road trip, so that kind of hurt,” Murray said with a laugh. “But I mean they’re cool with everything that I did a bunch of little stuff I had to do and stuff like that, but they’re good people.”

And, according to his teammates, he’s still a rookie until next season begins.

The rookie title won’t end there though for the Murray family. With the possibility of Keegan’s brother Kris becoming a rookie next season, Keegan plans to help him get ready for the NBA combine and draft. When asked if he had a preference of where Kris plays, Keegan said he wouldn’t mind his brother being in Sacramento but “let the chips fall where they may.”
