Nick Wagoner, San Francisco 49ers’ reporter for ESPN, joined Chris & Co. with Kyle Madson Wednesday afternoon to discuss the team’s offseason plans, his reactions to the 2023 NFL Draft, and where the Red & Gold stand heading OTAs. Plus, is Trey Lance still be shopped around the league?
“I hate to keep going to the Jimmy Garoppolo comparison but he’s in a situation that’s very similar and that he is more valuable to the 49ers as we sit here right now, than he is to any other team in the league,” Wagoner said on the show. “Because the 49ers have at least have some semblance of an idea of what they have in him. And the fact that he hasn’t been healthy, all that did is make other teams say ‘well maybe we could get him for nothing’. And the 49ers aren’t going to give him away for nothing because they gave up so much to get him, and because of their own quarterback situation.”
