We are just over two weeks away from June 22nd’s NBA Draft at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, meaning that it’s time to look at some potential picks for the Sacramento Kings’ 24th selection.

After drafting All-Rookie First Team forward Keegan Murray (fourth pick) last summer, the Kings will look to build off of its recent draft success by adding another young talent to its up-and-coming roster.

What type of player does Sacramento need to add to a team that just enjoyed its first NBA Playoff experience in nearly 20 years?

Over the next two weeks, Sactown Sports 1140 will provide you with profiles and players expected to be on the board near the Kings’ 24th pick.

Let’s dive in.

Sensabaugh was not a highly-ranked high school prospect coming out of Lake Highland Preparatory in Florida, but the forward made his mark during an impressive freshman season with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The big-bodied forward was able to score efficiently inside of the three-point arc (52% on two-point field goal attempts) while also acting as a near-elite catch-and-shoot threat from deep (45% on catch-and-shoot three-point attempts).

Listed as 6’6, 235 pounds with a 7’2 wingspan, Sensabaugh was a force for the Buckeyes as the freshman took home Big 10 All-Freshman honors at the season’s end.

Sensabaugh ranked eighth in the Big 10 in scoring (16.3 points), 10th in three-point field goal percentage (40%), and 12th in made three-point field goals (60) during his freshman season.

How would Sensabaugh fit with the Kings?

A 6’6 wing with a seven-foot wingspan that can create offense on his own and be a catch-and-shoot threat in a pass-heavy offense? Sensabaugh certainly seems like a player that would fit what the Kings are currently building.

Sensabaugh proved that he can create off the dribble, score with efficiency in the post, and knock down open–or obstructed–looks from deep. The forward used his size and physicality to free himself up for looks inside of the paint, another aspect of his game that would be useful for a Kings team that primarily relied on De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis inside the key.

Adding a player like Sensabaugh to a Sacramento roster that sorely lacks forward depth would be a win, especially with the uncertainty surrounding impending free agent Harrison Barnes’ future.

According to ESPN, Sensabugh has been dealing with a knee issue that was suffered during the end of the college basketball season. Due to the injury, the forward has not participated in competitive team workouts, but was recently cleared to begin visiting and working out for teams.

Sensabaugh’s draft stock could fluctuate over the coming weeks, with some mock drafts placing the prospect in the top 15 selections and others having him as low as 27th.

Regardless, the Buckeye is a player to watch if he remains on the board near Sacramento’s 24th selection on June 22nd.
