Big Nasty himself, Corliss Williamson, is back in the NBA.

According to a press release, the Minnesota Timberwolves have named Williamson as assistant coach. T-wolves head coach Chris Finch said he, “brings a wealth of experience, both in the NBA and on the collegiate level.”

“I can’t wait to join the Minnesota Timberwolves staff and be a part of what Tim and Chris are building here in Minnesota,” Williamson said in the release. “We have a lot of talent on this roster and I’m excited to get to work with our guys to help them be the best players on and off the court.”

Corliss Williamson began his NBA career in Sacramento when the Kings used the 13th pick in the 1995 NBA draft to select him. In two stints with the Kings — from 1995-2000 and again from 2005-07 — he averaged nearly 11 points and four rebounds.

His career also included stops in Toronto, Philadelphia, and Detroit, where he was awarded the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year honors in 2001-02.

This isn’t his first time on the coach’s bench. After he retired in 2007 as a Kings, Williamson returned to Sacramento as an assistant coach from 2013-16. His coaching career also included stops with the Orlando Magic (2016-18) and Phoenix Suns (2018-19).
